Eclipse Glasses Giveaway

Prepare for the April 8th Total Eclipses with one pair of free eclipse glasses from your library! 

Once you've made this reservation, you can pick up your household's eclipse viewer anytime we are open before 11 a.m. on April 8.

Registration will close at 11 a.m. (or earlier, if we run out of eclipse viewers). Anyone who has already reserved their eclipse viewer can still pick it up, even if registration has closed.

The eclipse is coming! 

On April 8, between 12:51pm and 3:22pm (with the max point at 2:07pm) we will see a partial total eclipse here in Hinsdale, with about 94% coverage. Prepare for this rare event with a free eclipse viewer for your household from the library! You can find more info about the upcoming eclipse here. 

Remember, there is no time during the upcoming total eclipse where it is safe to look at the sun without an eclipse viewer or eclipse glasses.

The rules:

• The first 400 households to register will receive one eclipse viewer.
• You must be a Hinsdale Library cardholder to receive it.
• We want as many people to see the eclipse as possible, so we are giving one to each household. There will be plenty of time during the event to share.
• Pickup will take place at the adult reference desk during library open hours from April 5-7, and from 9am to 11am on April 8 only for those who have registered.
