Meet HPL's featured artist! Lindsay Olson's artwork is on display in the Quiet Room from January through March 2023.
Scientists and artists both thrive on uncertainty and a sense of adventure. These two ideas have inspired Lindsay Olson during her residency at Fermilab and the CMS experiment at CERN. By using her training as an artist, Lindsay draws viewers into her richly textured work and invites them to take a closer look at the world of high energy physics. She will share her process of combining art and science and what it was like working with scientists in one of the worlds most respected labs. She will discuss how she, a one-time science avoider, learned how to use her training as an artist to explore and explain science to the public. She wants everyone to know you don’t need a Ph.D. to fall in love with physics.
