As part of their journey from their homelands in Europe to the United States, our immigrant ancestors traveled through ports. We’ll discuss popular ports for departure in Europe and how to access available records. This lecture primarily focuses on records from 1850 to the 1930s.
Instructor Jaymie Middendorf is a genealogist and public librarian with a passion for helping others find their family history. Jaymie holds a Certificate of Genealogical Research from Boston University. She has volunteered with the Illinois State Genealogical Society since 2016 and currently serves as their Honors & Awards Chair. She's a member of the Colorado Genealogical Society and the Illinois State Genealogical Society.
