READ with the Dogs

Sponsored by the Hinsdale Humane Society

Kindergartners through 4th graders meet with a trained therapy pet and its handler for 15-minute reading sessions. Students spend the time reading a book or two with just the dog and the handler to practice reading aloud.

The week of the event, a Library staff will call from first registered to last in order to place those signed up into time slots. 

The dogs and their handlers have been insured for liability and have undergone reading education training in addition to their extensive training and registration to do animal-assisted therapy. Sponsored by Hinsdale Humane Society.
