About Downers Grove Artists’ Guild
In 1941, Tressa Emerson Benson spearheaded a group exhibit of local artists in Downers Grove that became the Downers Grove Artists’ Guild (DGAG), which now meets monthly at Downers Grove Public Library. The DGAG encourages artists to explore their talents through participation in a variety of presentations and exhibitions. They also encourage membership of nonartists who love art, providing artist demonstrations and learning experiences for members and the community.
About the Exhibit
DGAG members express themselves through a variety of concepts and mediums, from fully representational to completely abstract. Their unifying force is a drive to be a community of local artists and art lovers who support each others’ creative endeavors and instincts to learn and grow artistically.
